Summary: Fort Bliss is in the throes of an unprecedented expansion that includes 24 two-story buildings for Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing totaling over one million square feet of space, which is being delivered by the design-build team headed by Sundt Construction. In close coordination with architect Michael Baker Jr. Incorporated and electrical engineers at the RMH Group, Berg professionals provided design-assist services for all electrical and lighting, including motion sensors, branch wiring, electrical distribution and 500kVA primary transformers.
From materials deliveries to daily flow of more than 10 Berg electricians through the Fort Bliss entrance gate, security is of utmost importance at this military installation. Recognizing that personal vehicles are not allowed on site, and avoiding back-ups at the only security gate through which over 1,000 employees must enter, Bergelectric bused crews onto the base and staggered start times to improve efficiency on this $172-million project. |
