Summary: When the Pipa Aha Macav Tribe followed up on a dream to create a new resort and casino on the historic banks of the Colorado River, it aptly named the facility AVI – which translates to money in the tribe’s native language. Situated at the convergence of the Nevada, Arizona and California borders, the AVI Resort & Casino has lived up to its name with tremendous success that has led to three expansions in the last three years.
Armed with valuable working knowledge of the resort and its engineering department, Berg joined forces for the third time with Burke for this new 102,000-s.f. expansion, designed by Las Vegas-based YWS Architects. New meeting and convention space, casino expansion, restaurants, banquet kitchen, employee dining facility and offices comprised the $30-million additions.
