Summary: In the spring of 2005, the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes opened the doors of its new home at the Fitzsimons campus – Colorado ’s $4.3 billion “square mile of life sciences” that has become the launch pad, hub and focus for the biotechnology industry in the Rocky Mountain region. The $34-million facility provides care for children and adults with Type I diabetes, as well as research of the disease.
Noteworthy aspects of this projects included laboratory tables that required custom electrical fittings, Class A finishes throughout, and a condensed schedule that mandated building both Phase I and Phase II concurrently. |
