Summary: Construction of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles New Patient Tower, located in the heart of Hollywood at Sunset and Vermont, required the demolition of existing facilities on the circa-1901 campus to provide enough space for the more than a half-million square feet of new structures.

In addition to providing a complete electrical network buildout for the New Patient Tower and all the specialized communication systems required for high-tech medical facility – security, fire-alarm, nurse-call, paging, wireless and multi media – Bergelectric was also charged with handling the facility back-up power. An intricate and precise choreography of dismantling, rebuilding paralleling gear with new controls and installing new larger generators was accomplished while maintaining emergency back-up power in the existing facility.
