Summary: The original casino at Chumash had been so successful that the tribe broke ground for a new facility in July 2002. Bergelectric was part of general contractor Perini Building Company’s team responsible for delivering the $60-million Phase 1. The new complex, designed by Thalden Boyd Architects, features a 100,000-s.f. casino and three restaurants for a full house of entertainment.
In an intense design-build effort with ILA Zammit Engineering, Berg was responsible for dual emergency generators, fire-alarm, tel-data lines and cabling for slot machines, as well as the backbone for systems critical to the successful operation of any gaming facility – security and audio/visual.
