Approximately 70% of the world’s leading network suppliers, like IBM, Dell and Hewlett-Packard, select Emulex products to enhance system connectivity.

To keep up with all the demand for their products, Costa Mesa, California-based Emulex tapped general contractor Snyder Langston and architects Hellmuth, Otata + Kassabaum, Inc. to furnish a three-building project with testing lab for their development and manufacturing operation. Bergelectric was brought on board along to complete electrical services for the $20 million project in a fast-track, 20-week turnaround. FBA Engineering of Newport Beach was the electrical engineer of record.

Per Berg Project Manager David Jacques, Berg is installing uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units, 225-amp buss way that creates the ultimate in power supply accessibility for lab projects and extensive cable tray installation. “There is a vast amount of equipment to be installed in every confined space that we will have to coordinate closely with MEP Trades to ensure a clean installation,” adds Jacques.

The fast turnaround isn’t a problem for Berg – these types of projects are what they do best – short schedules and a customer who cannot afford to miss a move-in deadline. To make sure the project is completed on time, Berg’s prefab and detailing departments are working on innovative installation ideas to help achieve this goal.
