State-approved apprenticeship and craft training programs are mandatory for field personnel; these programs lead to state certification which is now required for field electricians. On-the-job training helps develop novice workers – journeyman electricians work alongside apprentice and craft trainees, sharing their knowledge and overseeing the work to help those less experienced improve their skills day by day.
