Summary: As the primary training installation for US Army infantry enlistees, Fort Benning , GA , plays an important role in maintaining a combat-ready force in America . With more than 100,000 military dependents, reservists, retirees and civilian employees on base, the fort is described as a truly self-sustained military community.

Twenty, two-story buildings provided one million s.f. of new billeting space for military personnel at Fort Benning . One of the biggest challenges throughout the project was maintaining momentum while simultaneously constructing ten sets of barracks on two sites that are nearly five miles across the base from one another. Bergelectric crews installed complete electrical, tel-data, fire alarm, mass notification and intrusion-detection systems in each of the barracks.
