Summary: Overall building upgrades and site improvements were completed that will enhance both communications and security. Bergelectric professionals worked closely with KONSORTUM1 engineers in a design-assist capacity, to deliver a central plant, as well as a new upsized 750kW generator to service the four-story building and meet the tenants’ emergency backup requirements.
Bergelectric crews were responsible for the entire build-out of the nearly 47,000-sf fourth floor for TD Service Company, who was just in the process of moving into the building at the time of the planned electrical shutdown. For both ITT and TD, maintaining uninterrupted power in the data centers and basic office functions was vital to continuing operations. During the one-week outage, at which time emergency generators were used, Berg completely revamped the building’s main electrical room and doubled the service to 4000 amps in order to meet the new tenants’ power requirements. Because of the limited time available to replace the switchgear, Bergelectric had crews simultaneously working in the electrical room as well as the rooftop central plant where all of the mechanical equipment was also being replaced.
