Summary: Point Loma Waste Water Treatment Plant (PLWTP) Digesters S1/S2 Upgrades allowed Bergelectric to once again work with water/waste water design engineer specialist – Carollo Engineers.

The PLWTP has serviced San Diego County since 1963. The plant currently processes 175 million gallons of wastewater per day generated in 450 square mile area by more than 2.2 million residents. The upgrades called for Bergelectric to perform their work while the existing plant remained fully operational.

Other unique electrical installation features included; hazardous (explosion proof) locations, corrosive environments, additions and expansions to existing motor control centers ( MCC’s), and an upgrade of the field instrumentation and control systems.
