Summary: Located just 18 miles outside of its namesake city, each year the Orlando Sanford International Airport is host to more than 1.75 million passengers – many of whom are traveling to world – renowned theme parks, sunny Flordia beaches and other area attractions. As part of the airport’s green environment initiative the public/private partnership – between the Sanford Airport Authority and the company that operates the 2,000-acre site – TBI Airport Management, Inc. – has embarked on an energy-savings initiative with general contractor Energy Systems Group.

Bergelectric’s assignment is to conduct an analysis of the airport’s lighting aimed at upgrading efficiency and providing energy savings. The recommendations that Berg is making are expected to produce a return on investment or payback period of approximately eight years.
