Summary: The Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego is a 363,000 square-foot, multi-tiered expansion to the already-existing medical facility. Bergelectric was at the helm of the electrical work, which included the installation of a 1100KW generator that had to be tied into the existing facility.
“We were challenged by the detailed coordination between OSHPD and the hospital personnel,” said Bergelectric Project Manager Greg McElveny. “Tying into the existing central plant also created challenges as it required multiple shut-downs while the existing hospital was still operating around the clock.
But with the help of our design coordination services, we were able to confront these challenges ahead of time, making for a virtually seamless expansion.”
Along with the electrical installation, Bergelectric installed complete Hill-Rom nurse call systems throughout the facility. Bergelectric is a certified installer of Hill-Rom systems nation-wide.
