Summary: The city of Tulare prides itself as the agricultural center of California and the present industrial treatment plant was built to meet the needs of the dairy processing industries in the region which includes well-known manufacturers of cheese, ice-cream and butter (Kraft, Haagen Dazs, Land-O-Lakes and Saputo Cheese).

Bergelectric was responsible for the installation of the electrical and instrumentation work for this 12MGD Treatment Plant. Electrical features include; additions to the existing 12KV Southern California Edison (SCE) service loop and a new 5KV in-plant distribution system. The 5KV distribution included a 5KV backup generator, area substations, and solid state motor controllers for quad 700HP aeration blowers. Plant controls were accomplished by an extensive instrumentation and SCADA system.
