Summary: USC has outgrown its two existing data centers and recently relocated all administrative departments off campus. The new data center merges two departments originally housed in separate facilities and frees up precious real estate to make room for more teaching departments on the campus.
Berg was a pivotal player on this key facility for USC by installing two 5,000-amp L.A. Department of Water and Power (LADWP) metered services to accommodate the new electrical loads. According to Berg’s Preconstruction Manager Scott Dater, “Our extensive and thorough preconstruction effort and ability to get the installation right the first time were vital to the project since the data equipment could not be tested until our work was complete.” |
