The Pacific Northwest is home to some of the nation’s top Universities, and Bergelectric is proud to have played a part in several prominent construction projects on our local campuses throughout the region. Our latest project has been the John J. Hemmingson Center at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA with Opsis Architecture, Bernardo-Willis Architects and Hoffman Construction.
The John J. Hemmingson Center replaces the old Center of Gonzaga Student Union building built in 1954 and is the new hub of Gonzaga’s campus; bringing together students, faculty, staff and the community to foster collaboration and activities that support social, academic and spiritual growth. The LEED Gold facility includes an 800-seat multipurpose space, a 200-seat Theatre featuring live shows and movies, media and active lounges, dining services, retail facilities, theme restaurants and six cafés serving organic produce that will be grown in the state-of-the-art hydroponic greenhouse/learning lab located on the roof. The new center will also be home to the Gonzaga Student Body Association and University Ministry along with providing space for several educational bodies including the Center for Global Engagement for global initiatives and workspace for international students, the Center for Community Action and Service Learning and the Center for Experiential Leadership.
