A “Big Time” Resort in Loveland, CO

On the eve of its golden anniversary, Springfield, MO-based John Q.Hammons Hotels & Resorts celebrated the next addition to the hotelier’s compliment of over 180 upscale full-service hotels and resorts that boasts such well-known brands as Embassy Suites, Marriott, Radisson, Holiday Inn and Hilton. Completed in 2009, the Embassy Suites-Loveland Hotel and Spa is now the largest hotel between Denver suburbs and the Canadian border. Loveland, CO—a community just north of “The Mile High City”—is the latest recipient of a new John Q. Hammons hospitality development that is well suited to the growing attractions that make Loveland a popular place to live, work and visit.

The Denver office brought a wealth of highrise and residential experience as well as familiarity with local code authorities and fire jurisdictions that helped to facilitate the 20-month fast track schedule. Although the general contractor and owner had previously built several similar properties throughout the country, Berg was able to suggest specific cost-saving measures on the Embassy Suites–Loveland Hotel and Spa that still adhere to the chain’s signature design feature with rooms centered around an 8-story atrium. The Berg team provided empty raceway systems for telephone, data and security systems. Berg also proposed that homeruns to guestrooms be routed in the slab within non-metallic tubing and the use of cost-effective aluminum wiring for both service and distribution wherever possible.
