Continuing Commitment to Teamwork Pays Off
Berg was recruited by general contractor VCC to provide services on the of the Montelucia Resort & Spa transformation. Before this, the duo celebrated their successful teamwork on the 1.3 million-s.f. Victoria Gardens project that features 100 upscale retail, restaurant and entertainment tenants, as well as residential units in an eclectic California mixed-use development.
“VCC asked Berg to join the Montelucia team based on our experience with them on the Victoria Gardens project,” said VCC Project Manager Bryan Watson. “Berg’s commitment to schedule and their reputation as a true team partner was a valuable asset to delivering the Montelucia’s boutique five-star resort,” Watson added.
Phasing Construction to Meet Critical Schedule
The goal was to complete the critical first phases of the resort and spa in time for guests to arrive for the 2008 Super Bowl. In Phase One, Bergelectric provided electrical contracting for the 60,000-s.f. parking structure and underslab work related to the 90,000-s.f. spa complex designed by Allan + Philp Architects of Scottsdale. In addition to the luxurious spa—brainchild of world-renowned designer Sylvia Sepielli—that is housed on an entire floor of the facility, the three-story building also features a state-of-the-art kitchen, grand ballroom and meeting facilities that serve as a hub for elite social functions.
