On Campus Housing at UC San Diego

Bergelectric teamed up with Sundt Construction and Michael Wall Engineering on the design build delivery of the UC San Diego One Miramar Graduate Student Housing project. The project consisted of 403, two-bedroom units and also included a study lounge, meeting rooms, retail spaces, administrative/management offices, and a 685-space, six-story parking garage.

Coordination with the design team and the owner during the preconstruction phases, along with extensive BIM modeling of this student housing project (the first on the UC San Diego campus sind 1995) were key for Bergelectric to keep the project on schedule and within the owners budget.

Bergelectric took advantage of their innovative prefabrication department to build electrical components off-site in a control environment—assuring a level of quality and consistency throughout the 403 living units.

Along with the electrical installation, Bergelectric provided fire alarm, security and tel-data systems throughout the facility.
