Chairman of the Board

Tom Anderson has been the mastermind behind Bergelectric’s geographic and market growth over the last three decades. After an astonishing Bergelectric career where he held positions as Journeyman Electrician, Foreman and General Superintendent before succeeding in upper management duties, he now holds the position of Chairman of the Board—helping to foster development of the next generation of achievers. When he’s not busy helping Bergelectric achieve great heights…he’s fishing.

Bill moved from Arizona to California with great determination to put his degree from Arizona State University in Industrial Technology to good use. Bill started at Berg when he was 24 in their estimating department and has persevered through every challenge and role that came his way. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Bill brings a classic can-do perspective to the company. The move to California not only brought Berg their current CEO, but their current CEO learned to embrace the California lifestyle. The new grandfather spends any time he can outdoors bicycling, boating or off-roading.

A proud Louisiana State University alumnus, Alan still carries his southern hospitality roots with him as President of Bergelectric. Through increasingly responsible roles over the past three decades, Mashburn possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of Berg historical data and his years as Senior Vice President in charge of national operations have aided him in gaining a broader perspective of the company’s diverse markets.

Eddie Billig brings more than 30 years of well-rounded Bergelectric expertise—as Manager of the Special Projects Division, Vice President in charge of all Los Angeles Operations and Senior Vice President of Construction—to his current position of Senior Executive Vice President. Eddie is a champion of two of Berg’s key strategic goals—enhancing profitability and creating a management structure that best serves Berg’s targeted growth.

Ron’s rise in management responsibilities have paralleled Berg’s success in advanced markets like bio-pharmaceutical, R&D, and renewable-energy. A life-long surfer, Ron got his start at Bergelectric’s San Diego office as an apprentice electrician—holding positions as a foreman, general foreman, superintendent, general superintendent and project manager before ascending to upper management. Now, as Executive Vice President and member of the Board of Directors, Ron is continuing on his forward-thinking path for all Bergelectric employees to follow.
William R. Sorber

An avid traveler with many stories to tell, William “Bill” Sorber is licensed in more than 20 states and has been instrumental in establishing Berg’s Portland, Orlando, and Raleigh offices. His current responsibilities include assisting with national sales and overseeing regional offices in Florida and Texas. He offered words of encouragement to talented, young Bergelectric professionals when he said, “It’s all about drive, motivation and the desire to do well—Bergelectric provides the opportunity to be all that you can be.”

A native to Southern California, Steve came to Bergelectric as a computer programmer in their Los Angeles office in 1985, where he developed proprietary software programs in estimating and accounting. Thirty years later, Steve is now Vice President of Finance after working his way through accounting and finance in his position as Controller. He now enjoys his new roots in San Diego after relocating in 2012. As an active board member, he currently oversees accounting, and finance.

Carl got his start with Bergelectric as a Foreman in 1990. Now, with more than 24 years of experience with Bergelectric, Carl manages Bergelectric’s National Projects Division. His work ethic, leadership qualities and relationships with project owners and general contractors have found much success.

Spending summers as a teenager with his father, who worked for one of the nation’s largest electrical contractors, handling materials in the shop yard and working in the tool shop—John was destined for a career in the electrical contracting industry. Currently a Senior Vice President, John has been the leader behind Bergelectric’s successful geographic, market and revenue expansion in the Pacific Northwest.

Alan is a Colorado native whose roots in the state extend back four generations. Since joining Bergelectric, he has been a stable force within the region and has established a solid customer base. Alan’s management qualities embody the personality traits that exemplify what Berg is all about—honesty, integrity and loyalty.

In addition to being a driving force in the creation of the Bergelectric Charitable Foundation, Rob is responsible for Bergelectric’s steady growth in the Los Angeles and Ventura regions. Rob’s vision and contracting experience—from estimating, sales and field management, to project supervision and troubleshooting—coupled with his tenure managing some of Bergelectric’s more high-profile healthcare assignments has proven him to be a natural leader.

George is a former hot air balloon pilot who has also taken Bergelectric’s Technology Systems Division to new heights. Since joining Bergelectric in 2000, George has been the pilot of the division’s substantial growth, luring in many certified professionals, expanding geographic markets and adding to the list of services provided to the end user.

Becoming the operations leader for Bergelectric’s largest office should come as no surprise for those who know Steve. His humble beginning as an Apprentice Electrician, and his ability to work seamlessly with various clients throughout the region has earned him a level respect from peers, general contractors and facilities owners alike. Perhaps Steve can attribute his life-long involvement in sports as key to developing his leadership qualities.

Matt is a proud graduate of Purdue University’s Construction Management program. Praised for his tremendous work-ethic, Matt has consistently earned his way up the corporate ladder at Bergelectric–holding positions as Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Regional Manager before acquiring the position of Vice President Austin Region. He has played a major role on many of Bergelectric’s large-scale/complex projects.

After several years of hands-on field experience, Justin joined Bergelectric’s San Diego Estimating Department where he prepared detailed estimates for multiple high-profile projects prior to his move into project management. In 2008, Justin moved into Bergelectric’s Las Vegas Regional Office where he found success in an operations management role. Now, the Vice President of the Las Vegas/Phoenix region, Justin has created a thriving atmosphere for Bergelectric throughout the states of Nevada and Arizona.
