James A. Musick Jail Expansion

The expansion includes adding two new housing structures on the 94-acre property at Irvine’s edge. It will add 896 beds, boosting the jail’s capacity to 2,208. The new construction is set to replace the existing mix of permanent buildings and repurposed wooden barracks and tents that were added during the inmate boom of the 1980s and 1990s.
